A small aircraft made an emergency landing on the east side of Highway 404 at 16th Avenue, just north of Buttonville Airport on Sunday afternoon.
York Regional Police staff sgt. Andrew Bell said there were two occupants in the plane, a student and a teacher. He said both had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Apparently the plane had issues on takeoff, he said, and they had to put it down shortly after they left the airport.
The plane is a four-seater Cessna, and Transport Canada has been notified, he added.
