By News Staff

A woman was injured after the occupants of a vehicle, including at least one child, were trapped in a car after a multi-vehicle crash in North York.

Officers and emergency crews responded to reports of a collision in the Bathurst Street and Bainbridge Avenue area shortly before 5 p.m.

Police say a driver reportedly ran a red light and struck a few other vehicles.

The child as well as other occupants in that vehicle were removed from it and paramedics assessed their injuries on scene.

Police initially said several people were injured and a second ambulance was requested to assist on scene. They later updated to say the second ambulance was unnecessary and only one woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Her two children who were also in the vehicle were taken to hospital with her, but they were not injured.
