By News Staff

Four residents at a long-term care home in Burlington have now died as that home grapples with a COVID-19 outbreak.

The operator of the village of Tansley Woods says the two most recent residents who died previously tested positive for the virus.

The four deaths have happened in the last seven days.

As of monday, the operator says just over 90 per cent of staff have committed to vaccination with their first dose, and 77 per cent have had a second shot.

Of the residents – 97 per cent are fully vaccinated.

In a statement posted online, the organization says it won’t be sharing the vaccination status of those with COVID-19, or how the virus spread in the home, but adds team members are not the sole risk of transmission.
