A man is in life-threatening condition after he fell from a mall escalator in downtown Toronto Monday afternoon.
Police say they were called to the 10 Dundas Street Plaza shortly before 4 p.m. for a report that a man had fallen.
Toronto Paramedic Services said they transported a 25-year-old man to hospital in life-threatening condition.
Const. David Hopkinson said the man was on the central elevators which are three storeys high, but it is unclear what height the man fell from.
He added that any incident involving escalators in a mall are considered an industrial accident and the Ministry of Labour will investigate.
The section of the mall where the incident happened has been closed off for the investigation.
