Three teenagers and a woman are in police custody and police are still searching for a fifth suspect for allegedly stealing a high-end car at gunpoint in Brampton.

Peel police said an Alfa Romeo was stolen at Chinguacousy Road and Earlsbridge Boulevard on Wednesday.

The car owner was reportedly approached by a male with a gun at a commercial plaza in the area around 6 p.m. and told to get out of the car. The suspect then drove off in the brand new vehicle.

However, because of the vehicle’s security technology, police were able to track its whereabouts.

Police said the car was tracked to North York where Toronto police stopped the car and arrested three teenage boys and a woman inside.

During the arrest, a 16-year-old from Toronto, believed to be responsible for the carjacking had a loaded 9mm glock handgun and a large quantity of what police believe is fentanyl.

He has been charged with multiple offences including robbery with a firearm, breach of probation and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was held for a bail hearing and appeared in court on Thursday.

The other two teens are a 14-year-old and 15-year-old boy, both from Brampton.

The 15-year-old was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and breach of recognizance. He was also held for a bail hearing and appeared in court on Thursday.

The 14-year-old as well as Treanna Bryan, 18 from Toronto were both charged with possession of property obtained by crime. Both were released and must appear in court in October.

Police are still looking for a fifth suspect in this carjacking investigation. He is described as a South Asian male in his 20s, six-feet tall, with a slim build and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Police are investigating whether this group of young people is responsible for other carjackings in recent months.
