‘My heart is broken’: Drake speaks out following Astroworld tragedy

Drake is finally speaking out, days after his performance at the Astroworld Festival in Houston last week ended in tragedy.

“I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy. I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself,” Drake said in an Instagram post overnight.

“My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering. I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can. May God be with you all.”

Drake made a surprise appearance at the festival on Friday and was on the stage with Travis Scott, as the crowd surged leaving eight people dead.

Drake and Scott are both facing legal action, accused in one lawsuit of inciting a riot.

Among the dead include high schoolers, a computer science student and an aspiring Border Patrol agent. Authorities released details on their identities but not how they died, which may take several weeks.

The youngest was 14, while the oldest was 27. Thirteen people are still hospitalized but their conditions were not revealed.
