3 youths in custody after fake gun sends Brampton school into lockdown

Three youths are in police custody after a Brampton high school was put into lockdown on Thursday afternoon.

Peel Regional Police say they have arrested two girls and a boy, who are the age of 16, and seized a fake firearm from outside of Brampton Centennial Secondary School.

The school was place in hold and secure after reports of someone seen carrying a firearm in the area of the school, located in the Elgin Drive and McMurchy Avenue area.

Bishop Francis Allen, in close proximity, was also put into lockdown. The hold and secure at both schools has since been lifted.

It remains unclear whether the three individuals in custody are students at either school.

No injuries have been reported and the investigation is ongoing.
