Police say an early morning shooting in Brampton which seriously injured two people was a targeted incident.
Investigators were called to the Chandni Convention Centre on Gateway Boulevard just before 4 a.m. where police believe a large gathering was taking place and located a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
“A short time later we located a vehicle that was involved in a collision just down the street on Gateway, where a second victim – a male adult – was located suffering a gunshot wound as well,” said Cst. Sarah Patten in an update from the scene on Sunday morning.
Both victims were taken to a trauma centre in serious but non-life threatening condition.
No suspect description has been provided at this time.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
