Toronto police officer struck by vehicle while directing traffic

Toronto police say one of their own officers is in hospital after they were struck by a vehicle while directing traffic on Monday night.
Police say the incident happened in the area of Finch Avenue West and Signet Drive around midnight.
The officer, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the driver involved remained at the scene.
The intersection was closed during the investigation and has since reopened.
