A Brampton man is facing several charges stemming from a road rage incident during which he threatened someone with a BB gun.
Peel Regional Police were called to the area of Dixie Road and Bovaird Drive around 6 a.m. on Wednesday following reports of a road rage incident involving two people.
It’s alleged that one man threatened the victim during the altercation while in possession of a BB gun.
The victim was not injured.
Investigators arrested one man for uttering threats and being in possession of an unauthorized firearm. Police say the BB gun was eventually located in a holster in the man’s car.
Police have charged 39-year-old Brendan Deonarine of Brampton with uttering death threats and released him on an undertaking. He’s scheduled to appear in court on August 11.
In a news release, investigators reminded the public that although BB, pellet or airsoft guns are legal, great care is required to ensure the public and police do not mistake them for real firearms.
