1 dead, 1 injured following overnight stabbing outside Mississauga banquet hall

One person is dead and another is in hospital with injuries after a stabbing in outside a banquet hall in Mississauga on Monday morning.
Officers were called to the parking lot of the Mississauga Grand Banquet and Event Centre, in the area of Britannia Road and Hurontario Street, just before 2:30 a.m.
Police say one victim was pronounced dead at the scene and a second victim, an 18-year-old man with stab wounds, was rushed to a local trauma centre in critical condition. In an update, police say the injuries to the second victim are now considered non-life threatening and he is in stable condition.
It remains unclear if the victims were attending an event at the banquet hall or just happened to be in the area.
The suspects fled the area before police arrived and no suspect descriptions have been made available.
The investigation is ongoing. Police say there is no further threat to public safety.
