Starting Thursday, eligible voters planning to vote in the upcoming Toronto municipal election can check if they are on the voters’ list and update their information, or add their name if not on the list.
The voters’ list will include the eligible voter’s name, address, and their school support.
Residents can check if they are on the voters’ list by using Toronto Elections MyVote, or emailing VoterRegistration@toronto.ca, or calling 311.
The deadline to submit changes to Toronto Elections is September 23. After that date, eligible voters can still add their name to the voters’ list when voting in person on election day on October 24 or during the advance polls, October 7-14.
Starting the week of September 26, the City will mail out voter information cards to eligible voters who are on the final voters’ list. The voter cards provide information about when and where to vote.
Eligible voters who haven’t received their card can use MyVote to print or upload a digital copy to their smartphones, which can be shown at the polling station, along with acceptable identification.
The Toronto City Clerk has certified 372 candidates to run in the municipal election, for the positions of mayor (31), councillor (164), and school board trustee (177).
There are fewer candidates running in the 2022 municipal race compared to 2018, when there were 501 in total. 35 candidates ran for Mayor John Tory’s job, 242 for councillor, and 224 for school board trustee.
