Peel regional police say a situation involving a person in crisis who barricaded themselves in a building near Credit Valley Hospital on Friday was resolved in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Crisis negotiators were called to the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Erin Mills Parkway in Mississauga just after 7:30 a.m. Friday.

“Police, along with Mississauga Fire and Peel Paramedics, responded to a medical facility adjacent to a local hospital for reports of an armed subject inside,” said police.

Emergency Task Force (ETF) personnel were positioned on the roof of the medical building, close to a section of the hospital’s parking, which was closed.

Late Friday afternoon police said the situation was still ongoing. Around 2 a.m., they provided an update that it had been resolved with no injuries and one person is in custody. All roads in the area that were closed have since reopened.

No further details were provided.
