One man is facing several charges in an alleged robbery spree that resulted in 144 thefts at LCBOs across central Ontario.
The Nottawasaga detachment of the Ontario provincial police said an investigation with the Dufferin detachment and in collaboration with the LCBO resource protection unit revealed a significant increase in thefts at liquor stores within the Nottawasaga and Dufferin areas.
In total, 144 thefts were carried out at LCBOs this year, equalling over $70,000 lost.
OPP said officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Mississauga on Tuesday, September 27, which revealed evidence of the thefts.
Authorities arrested 39-year-old Matthew Doucette, who was charged with eight counts of robbery over $5,000 and four counts of breaching probation.
