Police are hunting for a driver who crawled out of his wrecked car’s sunroof to escape the scene of a collision.

The crash occurred on Bathurst Street, north of Eglinton Avenue, just before midnight on Monday when a car and a TTC bus collided.

Toronto police say the car hit the bus and flipped over. The driver crawled out of the car’s sunroof and left the scene on foot.

Police say witnesses in the area have cellphone video of the driver standing around the crash before taking off.

Paramedics confirmed two people on the bus were sent to hospital with minor injuries.

Roads in the area were closed for several hours and reopened just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

The police canine unit was brought in to help search for the driver of the car.

No suspect description has been released. Const. Laura Brabant tells CityNews it’s being investigated as a fail to remain.

Const. Brabant says the vehicle’s driver, not the TTC driver, fled the scene and is sought by authorities.
