Two children dead after ATV crashes into pond in Hamilton

Hamilton police say two children died in hospital after an accident involving an ATV that crashed into a pond.

The incident happened in the Miles Road south and Airport Road areas near Mount Hope around 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Investigators tell CityNews that two children under the age of 10 crashed the ATV into the water and were without vital signs at the scene.

The two youths were rushed to McMaster’s Children’s Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

It’s unclear if the two children are related.
