Police make arrest in fatal October shooting in downtown Toronto

Toronto police have announced an arrest after a 38-year-old man was shot and killed in the Queen Street West and Portland Street area last October.

Peter Alexandros Madimenos, of Toronto, died at the scene of the shooting on October 22, 2022, just before 1 a.m.

On Tuesday, police announced that the suspect in the case, Sarkis Sogutlu, 28, of Toronto, was nabbed in Mississauga earlier in the day.

He was being sought on a Canada-wide warrant and is now facing a single count of second-degree murder.
