Police identify victim in fatal Danforth stabbing

Toronto police have identified a man who died in hospital after he was stabbed at an apartment building in Toronto’s east-end early Tuesday morning.
Police were called to the complex on Danforth Avenue, just east of Greenwood Avenue, for reports of someone injured around 2:30 a.m.
Residents at the Toronto community housing complex reported seeing a man collapsed and bleeding inside the ground floor hallway of the building.

Paramedics say the man was sent to hospital in critical condition where he was eventually pronounced dead.
In a release Tuesday night, police identified the victim as Nicola Maiorano, 57, of Toronto.
The homicide unit is investigating.
