2 suspects wanted for first-degree murder in Markham woman’s death arrested in Montreal

York regional police say two suspects wanted in connection with the death of a woman in Markham last year have been arrested in Montreal.
Around 8 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2022, police responded to the scene at an apartment building on Buchanan Drive in the area of Highway 7 and Warden Avenue for an “injured person” call.
When officers arrived, they found the woman dead inside an apartment.
A post-mortem deemed her death to be a homicide but police have not released a cause of death or details of her identity.
Police had issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for 38-year-old Shichao Dong and 37-year-old Lina Rong. They were wanted for first-degree murder.
In an update on Friday, investigators said the suspects were arrested by Montreal police on Jan. 6, 2023.
They have been brought back to York Region to each face the charge of first-degree murder.
