Driver killed after vehicle crashes into tree in Durham Region

A man is dead after the vehicle he was driving left the road and struck a tree in Durham Region.

The single-vehicle crash occurred near Lake Ridge Road and Ravenshoe Road in Brock Township around 7:10 a.m. on Monday.

Police say the vehicle went off the roadway and into a ditch before striking a tree. The 58-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roads were closed in the area for several hours as Durham police investigated.

There is no word on the cause of the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
