On this week’s episode of the “Tracking a Killer: The Cold Case Files” podcast, CityNews reporters Fil Martino and Madison Fitzpatrick take a look at the unsolved disappearance of eight-year-old Nicole Morin.

Nicole Morin left her apartment in the Etobicoke area on July 30, 1985 to meet a friend for a swim, but somewhere between her apartment and the lobby she disappeared, never to be seen again.

Toronto police Det. Stella Karras said they have received numerous tips over the years, but they have never been able to find her. She believes this case can be solved.

“If Nicole is not alive and the worst has happened to her, it really hinges on finding her remains. That’s really what we need. We need to find her remains and then whatever evidence that can glean,  then I think we have a very good chance of solving it, ” said Detective Karras.

Nicole’s mother died before any arrest was ever made in this case, but Detective Karras said her father is still alive.

“He has spent a lot of his own money following tips and leads trying to understand what happened to his daughter. He only wants to be contacted if police have solid information for him which I hope one day soon,  we’ll be able to do,” said Detective Karras.

Police are urging anyone with information about this case to given them a call.
