Man dead, firefighter in hospital after house fire in Brampton

One person is dead and a firefighter is in hospital following a two-alarm fire at a home in Brampton.

Firefighters were called to the residence on at Treeline Boulevard and Maltby Court, near Airport Road and Countryside Drive, around 10 a.m. on Friday.

Emergency crews removed a man from the home and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

A firefighter suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

No other injuries have been reported.

The Office of the Fire Mashal has been called in to investigate the origin, cause and circumstances of the fire.
