MUST-WATCH: Twisting through time with the God of Mischief

He’s still dealing with various multiversal mishaps, but Loki has returned to the MUST-WATCH Top 10! But will the God of Mischief reign from the top spot, or could it go to a time travelling horror film? Perhaps a romantic thriller set in the world of finance? You’ll have to keep reading to find out!

Loki (Season 2)

First up this week, one of Marvel’s most iconic characters has returned!

In the second season of Loki, the timeline at the Time Variance Authority appears to be all messed up following Loki’s (played by Tom Hiddleston from Crimson Peak) and Sylvie’s (played by Sophia Di Martino from Flowers) interaction with the multiversal peacekeeper He Who Remains (played by Johnathan Majors from Creed III). Loki finds himself re-uniting with Mobius M. Mobius (played by Owen Wilson from Wedding Crashers) to investigate the changes to the timeline, and prevent the multiverse from falling apart. This show also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw (from the Morning Show), Wunmi Mosaki (from Lovecraft Country), and Ke Huy Quan (from Everything Everywhere All At Once).

Totally Killer

Totally Killer

Totally Killer is a new film directed by Nahnatchka Khan (who directed Always Be My Maybe). It stars Kiernan Shipka (from Mad Men) as as a young women whose mother (played by Julie Bowen from Modern Family) survived a serial killer’s attack on Halloween 1987. As she goes out on Halloween, she finds herself being stalked by a serial killer and ends up running away and accidentally encounters a time machine. It sends her back to Halloween 1987, and now she’s got to stop the original serial killer and hope the new one hasn’t followed her back. This film also stars Olivia Holt (from Runaways), Lochlyn Munro (from Riverdale), and Randall Park (from Fresh Off the Boat).

Bargain

Where to watch: Paramount+

Now, it’s time for a thriller on the other side of the Pacific Ocean!

Bargain is a South Korean miniseries about a horrifying situation. A man (played by Jin Seon-kyu from the Outlaws) decides to purchase the services of a young sex worker and shortly after arriving he finds himself tied up and blindfolded. His organs are being auctioned off to the highest bidder, and right before he’s sold an earthquake strikes the building. He’ll have to figure his way out while surrounded by people that don’t want him to escape. This miniseries also stars Jeon Jong-seo (from Burning), Kang Gil-woo (from Broker), and Shin Jae Hwi (from Moving).

The second season of Our Flag Means Death has begun airing! This show is about the adventures of Stede Bonnet, the Gentleman Pirate (played by Rhys Darby from Flight of the Conchords) and one of the most infamous pirates of all time, Edward Teach, also known as Blackbeard (played by Taika Waititi from Jojo Rabbit). In this show, the two fall in love until circumstances tear them apart. Stede is looking to find Ed and his crew, while Ed is looking for revenge on his former lover. This show also stars Ewen Bremner (from Trainspotting), Joel Fry (from Yesterday), and Matthew Maher (from Air).

Fair Play

Last but certainly not least, an intense erotic thriller!

Fair Play stars Alden Ehrenreich (from Solo) and Phoebe Dynevor (from Bridgerton) as two people working at a hedge fund together who are also secretly in a relationship. The relationship is forbidden by company policy, but the two fall deeply in love and get engaged to each other. Shortly after this she receives a promotion he expected would he his, and he becomes jealous of her success. As their passionate love life begins to infiltrate their workplace dynamics, the relationship becomes much more complicated and stars to unravel. This film also stars Eddie Marsan (from the World’s End), Rich Sommer (from Mad Men), and Patrick Fischler (from Mulholland Drive).
