Man arrested in sexual assault of girl, 9, at Toronto’s Dufferin Mall

Toronto police have arrested a man who was wanted in the alleged sexual assault of a young girl as she shopped with her mother.

Investigators were notified of a sexual assault just after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, in the Dufferin Street and Bloor Street West area.

Police said a mother and her 9-year-old daughter were shopping when an unknown man approached the girl from behind and sexually assaulted her.

The girl’s mother confronted the man, who then fled.

The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Jeff Nolan of Toronto. He has been arrested and charged for sexual interference.

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice on Dec. 14.
