Kangaroo seen running in Oshawa got loose while being transported to Quebec: police
If you saw a kangaroo running in Oshawa on Friday, your eyes weren’t deceiving you. Durham Regional Police have now provided an explanation for the bizarre site which was captured on video.
“What I can tell you is that yesterday evening, a delivery driver en route to Quebec with two kangaroos made a pit stop at the Oshawa Zoo to let the kangaroos stretch their legs,” Durham Regional Police Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss told The Canadian Press in an email.
“Unfortunately, during this break, one of the kangaroos managed to escape and has been sighted multiple times today.”

A lost pet search group posted a video of the kangaroo running along an Oshawa street on Friday morning.
The group, Team Chelsea, said the video was recorded at around 7:45 a.m. this morning on Winchester Road and was later posted to its page by one of its followers.
The kangaroo can be seen running westbound on Winchester from Harmony Road, the video description states.
“If you see the kangaroo, do not approach it,” the group’s Facebook post states, adding that the animal has not been spotted since.

According to the University of Melbourne, kangaroos can be dangerous, with potentially deadly kicking power.
“Kangaroos are wild animals,” an article on the university’s website says.
“It’s important to remember that while they can make interesting pets, they have never been domesticated, so their behaviour is driven mostly by instinct.
“While a kangaroo’s first response is usually to flee, it will attack if feels cornered…”
Durham Regional Police said they attended the scene but were unable to find the animal.
