12-year-old stabbed employee while trying to rob east-end store: police

A 12-year-old boy is facing charges after allegedly stabbing someone while trying to rob a store in Toronto’s east end.
Officers were called to the area of Danforth Avenue and Victoria Park Avenue around 10:05 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a stabbing.
Police allege a suspect went into a store near the intersection and demanded money from the cashier. The suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and jumped over the counter before chasing the employee outside and stabbing them in the back.
The victim was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers arrested the suspect near the scene and recovered a knife.
A 12-year-old boy from Toronto has been arrested and charged with robbery with a weapon, assault, and mischief under $5000.
The boy cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
