2 suspects arrested, 1 wanted for murder in Niagara Region

An investigation into the death of a man who was found deceased in a rural area of Port Colborne is heating up following the arrest of a St. Catharines woman.

On Thursday, the Niagara Regional Police Service arrested 36-year-old Jade Hayward on first-degree murder charges.

She was held in custody for a bail hearing on Friday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

Hayward is accused, along with two other men, of killing 38-year-old Daniel Sanvido, whose body was found in a grassy area off the roadway, near Forkes Road and Highway 140.

The circumstances surrounding Sanvido’s death are still unclear. However, police say they are treating the case as a homicide.

On Saturday, police arrested 47-year-old Jacob Cudney of Niagara Falls after making a public appeal for his whereabouts. He was charged for first-degree murder and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Investigators are now on the hunt for a third suspect: 47-year-old Richard Stevens who also lives in Niagara Falls.

Authorities say Stevens is considered to be armed and dangerous, and should not be approached. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to contact police.
