There were possibly five individuals involved, but the number of people was not confirmed. All the suspects were wearing black and fled the scene before police arrival.
No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
Smash-and-grab style jewellery store robberies have popped up in Toronto and the GTA for several weeks. In mid-December, several suspects entered a store at Fairview Mall armed with hammers and allegedly broke open the jewellery display cabinets and took a large quantity of items from the display cases.
