Toronto police officers injured after suspect allegedly turns violent

Several police officers were injured when responding to a call in North York on Tuesday after a man allegedly became violent.

Toronto police officers were called to the Bathurst Street and Lawrence Avenue area just after 8:30 a.m. for reports of a man being threatened.

It’s alleged that the man became violent with the authorities, and several officers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene.

A spokesperson said one officer suffered a head injury.

A man is in custody, police noted, adding that the suspect was also transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
