Man seriously injured in 3-alarm fire in The Beaches

A man in his 50s is in hospital after a 3-alarm fire in The Beaches.

Fire crews were called to a home in the Kewbeach and Kenilworth Avenues area near Woodbine Avenue and Queen Street just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

Video from the scene shows flames and black smoke shooting out of the back of the home.

One man was located outside the home and treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Fire officials say the blaze spread to an adjacent home and caused heat damage to a third building before it was contained.

An investigation is underway into the cause and origin of the fire.
