Brampton man, 35, charged with attempted murder in stabbing investigation

A 35-year-old man facing an attempted murder charge in connection with a stabbing last week in Brampton has turned himself into police.

Police in Peel Region say they were called to a residence following reports of a stabbing around 2 p.m. on October 7. One person was taken to the hospital and later transferred to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

Investigators say the suspect and the victim were known to each other and were in a relationship.

A warrant for Vimal Mohan was issued in connection with the stabbing, and on October 11, he turned himself into police. He has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

The circumstances leading up to the attack are still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
