At the age of 21, Milos Raonic can become the first Canadian male ever to win consecutive ATP singles titles. He gets that shot Sunday in Memphis — a tournament he was a runner-up in a year ago.
Raonic defeated Benjamin Becker of Germany, 6-4, 6-4 in the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships semifinals Saturday.
Programming note: Tune into Sportsnet ONE on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. ET / 1:00 p.m. PT to watch Milos Raonic face Jurgen Melzer in the final of the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships.
The Thornhill, Ont., native was the fourth seed going into the ATP 500-series event.
To become the first Canadian in history to win back-to-back tournaments is quite a milestone.
Raonic will play Austrian Jurgen Melzer, who continued his amazing run with a broken right big toe by beating Radek Stepanek 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the other semi.
