Man smashes car with baseball bat while victim stopped in traffic in East York

A man smashed a woman’s car with a baseball bat while she was stopped in traffic in East York  Monday morning.

Toronto police say the woman was stopped in traffic near Danforth and Eldon avenues, near Victoria Park Avenue, when a black SUV pulled up next to her around 2 a.m.

A man got out of the SUV with a baseball bat and tried to force her out before smashing her car.

Police say the suspect then fled eastbound.

Police say the woman was hurt but her injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening.

Detailed suspect information hasn’t been released.
