Infant & teen rushed to hospital after 401 crash

A baby and teenage girl are in hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the eastbound 401 just east of Port Union.
A woman, believed to be their mother, suffered minor injuries. She was treated and released.
The transfer lanes in the area were closed, but have since reopened.
“For unknown reasons the car lost control,” said OPP Const. Linda Wolf.
“It hit the cement barrier and then moved into the path of the truck.”
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
An investigation is ongoing and police say they are looking into the weather as a possible factor.
