Citytv New Year’s Eve Bash Just One Of Hundreds Of Parties In G.T.A.

This article is more than 5 years old.
It’s not just a song by the Eagles.
It’s a question many people are asking each other at this time of year.
And now the stage is quite literally set for the biggest party in the country.
The aptly titled “Canada’s New Year’s Eve Bash” will be help you ring in 2007 at one of the most famous sites in the city – Nathan Phillips Square.
This year’s traditional Citytv party features some heavyweight talent – R&B sensation Keshia Chanté , singer/musician George and Hedley, who will close the show.
Crews were busy putting what will be a lot of finishing touches on the huge platform Thursday, the latest in a week-long effort. And there’s more to come. “It’s going to be the party of the year,” promises producer Dan Hughes.
Not to mention the last party of the year – and also the first of 2007.
There will be giveways and free hot chocolate, along with the best vibe in the city. The one thing you won’t find is alcohol. It’s been declared a booze free zone, so you can bring the kids. And it might even be cold enough to skate.
If something indoors and a little warmer is more your style, there’s no shortage on offer. The Liberty Grand still has tickets available for its big new year’s bashes, which will provide sumptuous meals and pack in an expected 5,000 partiers.
“They have aerials and drummers and dancers,” points out spokesperson Victoria Clarke. “It will be quite the night.”
Dinner is served at 8pm and the club access opens an hour later. It’ll cost you between $60-$100 per person.
The Rosewater Supper Club is preparing a huge feast.
“For New Year’s we’re doing a five course menu,” outlines chef Andy Foley. “There are two desserts and a chocolate marquis.”
If that doesn’t sate your appetite for a good time, maybe the following venues will:
