By News Staff

A man has life-threatening injuries following a collision in the Victoria Park and Sheppard Avenue East area Monday morning, police say.

Police said they were called to the intersection at around 10:30 a.m. for reports of a collision.

Investigators said a 56-year-old man was driving a grey 2015 Toyota Sienna van eastbound on Sheppard Avenue when it collided with a Dodge Grand Caravan van that was being driven by a 35-year-old woman.

It appears the Dodge was making a left turn on Victoria Park Avenue when the collision occurred, police said.

“A 72-year-old man was standing on the southeast corner of the intersection was struck by the Toyota Sienna as it flipped onto its side,” police said in a news release Monday evening.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Dashcam video provided by a viewer to CityNews appears to show the whole collision, including when the Toyota flips over and skids to a stop at the sidewalk.

The collision remains under investigation, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police directly. Tips can also be left anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
