Neither rain, nor slow, nor a pre-dawn wake-up call will keep Breakfast Television viewers away from a party – and what a bash it was.
Hundreds packed Yonge and Dundas Square, the future home of Citytv, early Wednesday for the fourth annual Viewer Appreciation Day.
Early morning revelers were greeted by buskers, clowns and musicians who put on a colourful – and long-lasting – show. If the sights and sounds weren’t enough, there were also the smells: everything from burgers to ice cream to corn on the cob was available free of charge.
“It’s all about the party,” Frank Ferragine beamed.
“This is incredible,” Kevin Frankish agreed. “We didn’t expect this many people. I hope we have enough hamburgers. Absolutely amazing venue!”
Also amazing? The free Buffalo Bills tickets. One lucky man got a pair of tickets handed to him by Jennifer Valentyne.
“Let’s go Buffalo!” winner Bruno cheered. “Thank you!”
Tracy Moore even took a break from her maternity leave to attend the festivities.
“This year is the most amazing year. The space alone. We’ve got double, triple the amount of people from last year. We have amazing vendors. Good to be back, even if it’s just for a day,” she smiled.
If you missed it, don’t worry – there’s always Wednesday night. Our appreciation for you isn’t over yet – there’s a free concert featuring Hedley at Yonge Dundas Square, plus a huge kickoff party for the Bills game Thursday.
If you can’t make it down, the entire event will be shown live starting at 9pm on Citytv.
