Amy Winehouse found dead

LONDON (NEWS1130) – Troubled singer Amy Winehouse is dead.  The singer, who has struggled with drug and alcohol abuse, was found in her London home this morning.

Police say a 27-year-old female was pronounced dead at the home and that her death is being treated as “unexplained.”  Last month, Winehouse cancelled her European concert tour.

She and her former husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were plagued by legal troubles that left him serving prison time at one point.

Her hit song  “Rehab”  reached the Top 10 in both the UK and US.  Time Magazine named “Rehab” the Best Song of 2007.  Her 2006 album Back to Black notched six Grammy nominations, she won five awards which tied the record for most wins by a female artist.
