1 hospitalized after fire at Parkdale apartment

One person was taken to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries after a fire at a Parkdale apartment on Wednesday evening.

Toronto Fire says the flames were contained to one unit on the first floor of a complex at 1447 King Street West, near Springhurst Avenue.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the two-alarm blaze, which broke out just after 5:00 p.m.

There’s no word on what caused the fire at this point.

Police closed the westbound lanes of King Street West at Jameson Avenue, but all lanes have since reopened.
