Head-on crash in Mimico leaves 23-year-old in life-threatening condition

A 23-year-old man has life-threatening injuries following a head-on crash in Mimico on Tuesday night.

The collision happened just after 8 p.m. at Lake Shore Boulevard and Lake Crescent, just east of Royal York Road.

Police say the 23-year-old man was driving eastbound on Lakeshore when his car crossed over the yellow line and smashed head-on into a pickup truck that travelling westbound.

Investigators say speed and impairment are possibly involved in the crash. Witnesses are being asked to come forward.

Lake Shore was closed from Royal York to Lake Crescent for the investigation but has since reopened.
