Car explosion outside of Oshawa police station under investigation

Durham police say a 34-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a car explosion in Oshawa Thursday night.
Police say around 8 p.m. they responded to a loud bang and found a vehicle in flames in front of their station. Officers say they were flagged by witnesses who say they saw an individual throw an incendiary device into a parked car.
Officers say after a short chase, a suspect was apprehended.
No injuries or additional damages have been reported. Police also say there’s no concern for public safety.
Police say Duy Quoc Nguyen of Oshawa is facing charges, including arson causing damage to property, possession of incendiary material, unlawful possession of explosives, mischief/damage danger to life and property over $5,000, and driving under suspension.
Nguyen has been held for a bail hearing, police added.
