Police seize replica firearm after gun call near North York school

A North York high school was put in lockdown after reports of a person with a gun in the area on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers say they attended Westview Centennial Secondary School in the Oakdale Road and Finch Avenue West area at around 1:20 p.m. and took four people into custody.

Police say the four “persons of interest” were located inside the school and a replica firearm has been recovered.

The lockdown at the school has since been lifted.

There are no reported injuries.
