Police recover nearly $500,000 worth of drugs in Markham, men charged

York Regional Police say officers have recovered nearly $500,000 worth of controlled drugs and substances, leading to the arrests of two men.

On September 27, authorities received information about the suspects trafficking ketamine from a residence in the 14th Avenue and Markham Road area and a residence near Denison Street and Brimley Road in Markham.

Police executed search warrants and seized 9.5 kilos of ketamine, 37 pounds of cannabis and 503 grams of methamphetamine, with a street value close to $490,000. Officers also recovered $60,000 in Canadian currency.

Two men were arrested as a result of the drug bust. They were identified as 36-year-old Yan Jin Li and 26-year-old Jie Hui Chen, both of Markham and face numerous drug-related offences.
