1 man arrested, 1 suspect outstanding in East York robbery investigation

Toronto police have arrested one man and are on the hunt for an additional suspect who is wanted in connection with an East York robbery investigation.

Investigators say the two men allegedly forced their way into an apartment. Once inside, the suspects  “made a demand for personal property” and then assaulted two victims inside the unit, leaving them with minor injuries.

The two suspects then fled the apartment.

On Saturday, police arrested 32-year-old Masoud Ebrahimi of Toronto. He is facing seven charges, including robbery, uttering threats, forcible confinement, assault and failing to comply with a release order.

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Monday, December 16.

Police are still on the hunt for Ebrahimi’s alleged accomplice. He is described as a man in his 40s with a thin build, short hair and unshaven. He is approximately five-foot-six.

Investigators encourage anyone with information to contact police.
