Police now say the 20-year-old man killed early Saturday morning in a fatal hit-and-run was actually a victim of murder.
Vincent Dang, 20, of Concord, was at the Rockwood Nightclub with friends at 31 Mercer St. when he got into an altercation which spilled out onto the street around 2:30am.
The suspect left the club in a full-sized dark grey SUV. He drove eastbound on Wellington St. before making a U-turn and driving straight towards Dang.
Dang was on the north sidewalk with friends before he was struck. After hitting Dang, police say the suspect’s vehicle continued southbound on Blue Jay’s Way.
The suspect is described as:
- Brown
- 19-25
- Thin build
- Moustache and a goatee
He was last seen wearing a black jacket with stripes on the collar and the sleeve.
Police say there were three to five people inside the suspect’s car at the time it struck Dang.
The Toronto police homicide squad has taken over the investigation, and the team has seized surveillance footage from surrounding businesses.
