WestJet & Delta Ink Interline Deal

Your next vacation or business trip may run a bit smoother due to a new deal between WestJet and Delta Air Lines.

The two companies announced some new conveniences for their customers Monday. Travellers can now purchase connecting flights on one ticket, get boarding passes for all their flights at check-in and tag their bags through to their final destination effective immediately in 25 Canadian and American gateways.

WestJet has already established a similar partnership with American Airlines. Interline deals are important to the Canadian carrier because its Boeing 737s can’t make long-haul trips.

“This news today demonstrates that we continue to deliver on our strategic plan to establish partnerships with airlines from around the world,” WestJet Executive Vice-President Hugh Dunleavy said in a statement. “Delta is an established, worldwide airline, and this interline agreement will open yet another channel for guests from around the globe to connect to WestJet’s network.”
