At a young age, Faiza Amin knew two things for sure; that Jack could have survived the Titanic if Rose made some room for him on that door, and that she wanted to be a reporter.
Today she’s a Journalist with CityNews Toronto, speaking and connecting with people in communities throughout the GTA. Faiza is grateful to have the opportunity to share these stories with viewers across Canada.
Prior to joining CityNews in 2016, she had a stint in beautiful British Columbia, where she was a video-journalist, radio anchor and web writer in the Peace Region. Faiza also previously worked as a communications specialist for the federal government. She holds a degree from the University of Ottawa and a diploma from Humber College.
Faiza is the middle child of seven siblings. Her family has lived in Africa, the Middle East and Europe— but Ottawa will always be home.
When she’s not in the newsroom, Faiza loves learning new languages, obsessing over Denzel Washington, meeting new people and re-watching Eddie Murphy's classic "Coming to America” over and over again.
