Lake Ontario’s high water levels are proving to be a wet blanket for concert goers.
The newly renamed and renovated Budweiser Stage was set to host it’s inaugural concert on May 16, but the show has been moved indoors.
The opening show at the former Molson Amphitheatre was to be the Toronto leg of the “Nobody Safe Tour” featuring artists Future, Migos, Tory Lanez, Zoey Dollaz and A$AP Ferg.
Concert promoter Live Nation says the concert will be held at the Air Canada Centre on the same evening instead.
In a release they said that the unprecedented water levels of Lake Ontario continue to rise and “the venue is experiencing a level of water intake that will jeopardize production of the concert and fan experience”
They added that fans will have their tickets refunded at the point of purchase. A pin code will then be provided via Ticketmaster that will facilitate the re-purchase of the same number of tickets in a similar seat location at the Air Canada Centre.
Since the ACC is a bigger venue than the Budweiser Stage and can accommodate more people, any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public for purchase on Monday, May 15.
Other concerts scheduled at the Budweiser Stage are currently still listed to go ahead as planned at the venue.
