Morning Arrests May Be Related To Creba Murder

A series of pre-dawn police arrests appears to be related to the Boxing Day shootout that claimed the life of 15-year-old Jane Creba.
Sources told CityNews that the raids, conducted by Toronto officers and homicide investigators before 5am Tuesday, could represent a major step forward in the as-yet unsolved murder case.
And a Toronto Police press release would seem to confirm that – announcing that at 11am Tuesday, Chief Bill Blair will hold a press conference to make a major announcement in connection with the Creba case.
Dozens have reportedly been brought in so far as the guns and gangs task force made the large-scale busts across the city, including nine men and one woman in the Oakwood and Eglinton area.
Most of the suspects were taken to Toronto Police 52 Division on Dundas St. West for processing. The exact number of arrests is unknown at this point.
Jane Creba died after being caught in the crossfire of a gunfight – apparently between two rival groups – in the Yonge and Dundas area at about 5:30pm on Boxing Day.
Six other bystanders were hurt in the spray of bullets.
Two people have been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting, but not with Creba’s death.
Last month, police offered a $50,000 reward for insider information about Creba’s murder, but it’s unclear whether that inspired anyone to come forward with the tip investigators wanted.
