Victim Catches Alleged Attacker On Cell Phone Camera

In the old days, cops had to take a generally unreliable witness description or hope a sketch artist could accurately reconstruct a suspect’s looks.

But that was before cell phone cameras.

And now a victim of a sexual assault on board the subway has turned the tables on her attacker, apparently capturing his picture on her portable phone.

The incident is one in a series of gropings police say was carried out by the same man. In three separate instances, a 34-year-old woman was riding on the Bloor-Danforth line when a stranger came up to her and inappropriately rubbed himself against her before disappearing into the rush hour crowd.

But on their last close encounter of the perverted kind, the woman was ready and managed to snap his picture using her cell phone camera.

That’s resulted in an image of the guy that’s both remarkably clear and detailed. It’s the best clue cops have and they want to catch him before he takes someone else for a ride.

He’s described as:

  • Brown skin,
  • 40-45,
  • Short dark hair,
  • 5’5″,
  • Chubby build
  • Round face.

If you know who he is, call the Sex Crimes Unit at (416) 808-7474.
